1. Remove the flowers from the casing and cut the stem on a slant (about 3 cm) and which are set out in the mother water. Remove leaves that will be in the water. For roses, Do not remove the thorns, as it causes deterioration in a much faster pace. Place flowers in a glass of water. The warm water should be used because it contains less oxygen than cold water reduces the amount of air bubbles that may form in the trunk system. Distilled water is the best water to use. Use cold water for bulb flowers like hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. Add flower food to water. Do not use metal containers because they reduce the effect of food on the flower. The stems should extend halfway the vase. In addition, the glass should not contain any residue that can be a haven for bacteria that can cause the flowers to wilt.

2. The flowers are held fresh light and a temperature of 65-72F. Warm temperatures cause the flowers to deteriorate faster so keep a room cooler and outside the direct sunlight. 4. Daffodils should be placed in his own goblet, because the stems of the flowers emit a substance that is toxic to other flowers. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight

5. You should spray the flowers with a gentle spray of water daily and remove dying flowers and dried leaves. Flower food contains a biocide that helps inhibit bacterial growth. The food is can be purchased at local nurseries and florists. If you do not have a package of plant foods, add a little sugar water.

6. Take care of the flowers every day. Remove spent flowers. Rotting leaves and flowers can make the water toxic to flowers. Change the water every 2 days. Be sure to add a preservative when you replace the water. You can also re-cut the stem for better water absorption. The lower the temperature of the room, the longer the flowers will last.
